MSCD Technical Community Windows XP SP2 is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Semenyung520 of bbs.mscode.cc. It released on October 13, 2006, and was added to the archive on April 6, 2024.
Description
The OS is a modified Windows XP SP2 distribution. It comes with one new theme, wallpapers, programs and tools, updates until October, 2006, and wallpapers. It is packaged in Norton Ghost 8.3.
At the Pre-Setup stage, it gives you options to type your name, organization, computer name and some tweaks, followed by the next step which you can choose to install drivers from DriverInf 1.3 and Freesoft tools.
On first boot, it opens a screen resolution changer which it allows you to change the screen resolution, followed by the IP Manager, which the IP and DNS can be set as automatic or manual, then it will launch a software selector tool that it was made by "msfans", which you can select softwares you want to install.
It comes with a boot selector integrated. Through it, you can install the OS by default or with 5 or 4 partitions, in addition, you can access MS-DOS 7.1, One-Click Ghost which it includes Symantec Ghost 8.3 Corporate Edition (cracked, registered to Information Systems), CMOS Password remover tool and a Chinese Large capacity hard disk detection and repair tool.
It comes with it's own autorun, through it, you can install, backup and restore this OS, backup and restore drivers, transfer the C drive personal data, reboot to the DOS install and view the description what it does contain and what it includes.
It is unattended and preactivated, the autorun was made with AutoPlay Menu Loader 4.3.0.288 and the boot menu was made using EasyBoot.

Notes
Bootleg quirks
- The Windows boot menu has been edited to include a link to One-Click Norton Ghost 8.3, as it needs a password in order to be accessed.
- The copy of Norton Ghost used for the F1 option in the menu doesn't work if the hard drive is created into 2 partitions.
- The Windows PE that is included in the first boot doesn't work as it pops up an error message with isass.exe, although this option will be removed after installing the OS.
- There is a shortcut on the desktop, which it's 宽带连接 (ADSL Broadband); it allows you to connect to the internet using a PPP broadband connection if present.
