Windows 7 Classic 2021 is a bootleg Windows 7 Professional SP1 edition, which was created by Malek ASIF and Arselan AMEEN. It released on September 24, 2021, and was added to the archive on July 21, 2023.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows 7 SP1 ISO. It comes with new setup look, themes, wallpapers, programs and lots of updates.

On the first boot of the OS, it starts configuring the bootleg, tries to activate Windows, though it did not successfully activate, installs resource hacker and Visual C++ all-in-one runtime, then it cleans useless shortcuts and applies a new default theme, and it will launch the "Win7 Boot Updater" tool with a custom boot screen that you will apply it. Otherwise it's not unattended nor preactivated.

Changes from Windows 7 SP1

Minor changes

  • The taskbar now now has quick launch set by default.
  • The system properties dialog is updated, along with support information.
  • The winver dialog is updated, with a new banner and it has 3 columns at the bottom which it shows you the authors' names with their call number and their group.
  • New Run... dialog.

Changes in pre-desktop procedures

  • New pre-setup and setup graphics.
  • New OOBE graphics.
  • New login graphcs.
  • The login message is set to extended.

Changes on the first boot

  • The command window colors will be set to red and white during the progress.
  • The user accounts' password age is set to unlimited.
  • Office 2010 and the bootleg will try to be acivated using AActivator tool.
  • Foxit reader will be registered by default.
  • Resource Hacker will be installed.
  • Microsoft Visual C++ AIO Runtime will be installed.
  • "Windows 7 Classic" theme will be applied.
  • Windows Boot Manager will be updated as it disables the integrity check and driver signing.
  • Desktop.ini file will be removed in the desktop.
  • The clicking sound is disabled.
  • Detailed device settings in Device Manager is shown.
  • Cleartype is enabled by default as it's set to "2".
  • The Control Panel is set to "Small icons".
  • The file association web site is disabled.
  • "Junior.theme skin is the default WinRAR skin used.
  • The blank icon from the desktop will be removed.
  • Win7 Boot Updater will be launched with a new boot screen that it will be manually set to the defualt.
  • The "start.ink" (the post-install command shortcut) shortcut in the start directory will be removed in the startup directory.
  • The computer model and vendor will be included in the OEM branding.

  • Ths bootleg is known to be released for tutorials about computers and phones such as fixing phones and PC's, setting them or doing registry tweaks and more.

Bootleg quirks

  • The Windows PE setup engine uses Windows 10 1803 version as the bootleg's image made in ESD format.
  • At every login screen, you will see a login hint which it shows the information about the team that made this bootleg before it logs you to the desktop.
