Windows 7 Dark Edition 2 is a bootleg Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 edition, which was created by Prince NRVL at Neo Reconia Sys. It released on September 1, 2012, and was added to the archive on August 10, 2022.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows 7 SP1 ISO. It adds many new programs and themes, along with one replaced theme and wallpaper. It also adds in some updates, and various other things. It comes with its own autorun.

At the pre-OOBE stage, it starts converting the language to Spanish, then the machine will restart after that.

It is paritally unattended, but not preactivated. The autorun was made using AutoPlay Media Studio.

Remarks

  • This bootleg is known to have more modifications on the CD root until October 6, 2014 (just after 2 years of the bootleg's release) that it converts the language to Spanish as the original ISO has around 3.7 GiB of size, so this bootleg was modified using WinToolkit at that time.

Bootleg quirks

  • Like Windows Shine Edition, the OS will start in classic theme by default because it's set to a broken basic theme made by the author themselves, which goes away when you apply another theme. In other words, the classic theme has been gutted out of the OS.
  • Since Skype is not installed by default, it doesn't launch after installing and shows you an error message that the executable is corrupted.
  • Task Manager was disabled by default.
  • There is a visual basic script file that you have to show hidden file and folders or disable that.
  • There have been some new programs added to Public Documents, which are:

  2. Se7en Logon Changer 7LC 1.1
  3. TaskDock
  4. UxStyle Core July 13
  5. Windows 7 Boot Updater 0.0.0.11
  6. And finally, Windows 7 User Picture Frame Changer.
