Windows 7 Deep Blue is a bootleg Windows 7 Ultimate RTM edition, which was created by amc. It released on January 10, 2010, and was added to the archive on December 28, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows 7 ISO. It comes with programs, updates, themes, wallpapers, gadgets, avatars a new icon set and new cursor sets.

Between the OOBE finalization and the first boot of the OS, it applies many registry tweaks and launches the Windows Post-Install wizard, which it comes with a large set of programs from there, as they're all selected by default, at the same time the personalization control panel item will be launched as the default theme was set, after installing programs, it tells you that it restarts the computer after 30 minutes.

This bootleg was intends to be made as if it had a Service Pack 3 slipstreamed, but this one is just based on RTM as Windows 7 only had one Service Pack.

It is partially unattended and preactivated.

Bootleg quirks

  • Apparently, most tweaks have been multiplied from these registry files.
  • Some integrated themes are duplicate as they have difference with backgrounds.
  • There is one folder, an internet shortcut to the author's website, and Project Alchemist Dock (which only has shortcut put into it as its original file is missing before it gets installed on WPI) on the desktop, but we will focus on what's inside this folder, which is Tools.
    • This folder contains AllinonePlace, which has God Mode and the other is Windows 7 DreamScene Installer, which installs DreamScene for Windows 7. There are many folders for system settings and custom changes, which will be covered shortly:
      • The first folder is 99 Win 7 shortcuts, which contains Windows 7 programs shortcuts.
      • The second is ACTIVATE WINDOWS, which contains Windows 7 Loader 1.7.7 for activating the system if it's not activated properly.
      • The third is More Tweaks, which contains a large set of tweaks, more than the applied ones, which is in either registry files or in SFXes, which are unattended.
      • The fourth is Sidebar_Reboot, which is an SFX containing a program that restarts the Windows Sidebar.
      • The fifth is Start Orbs, which contains start menu orbs that can be changed using the Restorator tool, though it's not present in this bootleg.
      • The sixth is Watermark_Fix, which contains an SFX containing a tool that removes the OS watermark.
      • The seventh is Windows_7_Logon_Background_Changer_1.3.4, which is the Windows 7 Logon Background Changer tool to change the login screen
      • The last is WMP12_Library_BI_Changer, which is WMP12 Background Image Changer 1.0.7287.0 beta. It allows you to change the Windows Media Player 12 background.
  • Some programs from the WPI won't install properly or will show an error message like in the Foxit PDF Editor program. The user would need to go to the WPI install folder to reinstall them in order to be installed properly.

CD contents and other info

  • There's a new autorun on the CD root, which it's made using Autoplay Media Studio 7.5, through it, you can browse the files inside the CD root or install programs using WPI, otherwise, the default autorun that it was set by default is the original Windows 7 one.
