Windows Light XP 2014 is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 distribution created as part of the Light XP series, which was created by Captain Majid of Mz-Files. It released on June 19, 2014, and was added to the archive on April 6, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO, with Windows XP Post-SP3 Update Pack (QFE) version 20140408 integrated. It comes with a boot selector integrated. For the software listing, see Software section.

It comes with many programs, themes and wallpapers. It comes with many updates.

It is unattended, and preactivated. The bootleg was made using nLite 1.4.9.1, and the boot selector used was EasyBoot v6.5.

Changes from Windows XP SP3

Minor changes

Nearly all of the programs have their look updated to match Windows 7's
Animated graphics have been added to notably Display Properties' Desktop and Screensaver tab
VistaDriveIcon is set to start on startup
OEM branding is included, along with Support Information

Changes in pre-desktop procedures

The text-mode setup text changes first to "Windows Light", then " .: Windows XP Light Setup :. ".
New pre-setup graphics
New setup graphics. The setup background has been changed. There are now some graphics included in the bottom left and top right. The progress bar is updated.
New boot graphics
The pre-OOBE segment, along with the entirety of the OOBE segment has been removed

Bootleg quirks

The Documents and Settings, Program Files and WINDOWS folder have custom icons.
Microsoft Calculator Plus 1.0 replaces the default Calculator.
Virtual Magnifying Glass 3.2.2 replaces the default Magnifier.
Win32Pad 1.5.10.4 replaces the default Notepad.

You can transform any OS into Light XP using the XP Light Transformation Pack 1.8.4 on the CD root, which is mentioned in the README. You can also find L2USB there.
The autorun has been removed.
The CD label is set to "LightXPSP3".
