Windows Vista Darker Edition 2009 is a bootleg Windows Vista SP2 edition, which was created by Benjamin Samson of Rockers International Team. It released on July 30, 2009 and was added to the archive on December 31, 2023.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows Vista SP2 ISO. It comes with many programs and themes. It comes with registry tweaks.

It comes with its own autorun. Through it, you can install the bootleg, install ATI and NVIDIA drivers, run the Command Prompt, access the README, visit rtwincustomize.net/Welcome.html, run the Task Manager and visit rtwincustomize.net/contact/contact.html. You can also run the Device Manager, System Information and create a System Restore point which are available as links below the autorun buttons.

Minor changes

• The EULA, along with the setup steps text has its OS strings edited to "Windows Vista Darker Edition 2009"

• New setup graphics. The setup window background is now a wooden texture, and the setup background is now a gray texture

Notes

Bootleg quirks

• The OS selector's architectures have different casing (X86 and x64), and their descriptions both read "Windows Vista Ultimate".
• blackr2.reg is the exact same as rockers.reg (which gets applied during the OOBE finalization process), the only difference is a comment advertising the Rockers International Team website being removed.
• You can find links to rtwincustomize.net, rtmusic.org, and rtwincustomize.net/donate on the Desktop.
• Windows Vista theme 4 isn't included because it was a duplicate of Windows Vista theme 3.
• The Command Prompt foreground color is set to white.
