Windows Vista VIP (also known as Bo3bdo Vista VIP) is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Bo3bdo. It was released on January 23, 2008, and was added to the archive on April 6, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO. It is themed after Vista, it comes with programs, themes along with a lot of visual styles, wallpapers, update packs, a new default theme and wallpaper set.

On the first boot of the OS, it install programs and other enhancements like wallpapers and avatars.

It comes with it's own autorun, through it you can install these softwares that they will be installed on the first boot like Office 2003, Nero, K-Lite Codec Pack, RealPlayer and more.

It is unattended and preactivated, it was made using nLite 1.4 Beta on Windows XP Professional SP2, and the autorun was made using StartCD 1.2 Build 94.

Notes

Bootleg quirks

  • There's one additional context menu item called "Power Tweaks", which it contains lot of tweaks by default, but when you right clicking on the desktop and hovering over it, you will see many options such as going back, opening command prompt, showing or hiding hidden files and file extensions and more, you can also see making bootable ISO's when you right clicking on my computer.
  • QT Address bar, Regtweakage.NET, Xpero's Expander and Microsoft SyncToy require .NET Framework 2.0 to be installed in order to be launched.
  • In VMWare, while the "Installing Drivers" stage is done, the bootleg hangs on and stops from there.
  • "MoonFlower" and "WhiteFlame" WindowBlinds skins don't work as they're applying the Windows Classic theme instead.
  • The Hibernate button is now displayed in the shutdown dialog (including the classic one). It is additionally displayed even if the computer is on a domain.
  • The Arabic (Bahrain) keyboard layout has been added.
  • The time zone is set to "Kuwait, Riyadh (GMT +03:00)"
