Windows XP Algerian Edition (also known as Windows XP 2006 and Windows XP Algérienne Edition) is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Ra-fix. It was released on January 3, 2006, and was added to the archive on February 20, 2025.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO. It comes with programs, themes, screen savers, wallpapers, updates, 3 driver packs and a new default theme, wallpaper and cursor set.

On the first boot of the OS, it lauches the WPI-alternative tool called "AppZ", it shows you what apps you want to select for installing, after that WPI installation process completed, it changes the login screen to the classic one and it restarts.

It is unattended and preactivated, and it was made using nlite.

Minor changes

• The System Properties' banner is included, along with Support Information, which shows you an email account and as well as tweaks that it's applied.
• The start menu was set to classic by default.
• The following "My Computer"'s desktop context menu items have been added:
  • Gestion des périphériques (device manager)
  • Lancer Regedit (launch regedit)
  • [Arreter] (Turn off)
  • [Quitter session] (log off)
  • [Redémarrer] (restart)

Notes

Bootleg quirks

• Supercopier refuses to launch, instead, it prompts an error and it crashes explorer.
• The start menu option was hidden and disabled by default, so the classic start menu is the only option that it's shown.
