Windows XP Coccinelle Edition 4.0 Fort & Vert Edition is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created as part of the Coccinelle Edition series by Coccinelle of Fredisland.net. It released on September 12, 2009, and was added to the archive on July 25, 2024. It's the final version of the Windows XP Coccinelle Edition series and the only version that uses Windows XP SP3 base instead of SP2 in other versions.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO.

It's known to have big changes, which consists of a different program set that will be installed on first boot. bEach one is packed in 7z files instead of all in their own ccp files (which include programs and others with visualisation stuff for example). It adds more programs, tools and updates some of them, even more updates integrated for the SP3 to make it more updated, and tons of themes and visual styles (which some were present from the previous versions starting in 2.5 until 3.0) are added, also a different theme was set by default unlike previous versions which have a modified Luna theme.

The boot menu is slightly updated and the boot screen was replaced with a splash one. Unlike its predecessors, this one has a product key set by default. After installing the preloaded programs on the first boot, a 1 and quarter minute music that was present in the first version of the bootleg will play during the rebooting count timer.

It's partially unattended and practivated, it was made using nLite.

Bootleg quirks

  • Calculator, Notepad and Paint and Wordpad are moved to the Programs directory on the start menu.
  • Two folders are added to the start menu, the first one is for links to the directories' paths on the hard drive, and the other is for links for more apps.
  • Add or Remove Programs control panel applet is added to the start menu.
  • The Start menu now uses the Classic style by default.
  • Internet Explorer comes preloaded with many links.
  • The Explorer toolbar no longer has text.
  • The Quick Launch icons are set to large to resemble the look of Windows 7.
  • The Command Prompt foreground and background color are set to white and gray.
