Windows XP Fannan NewLook 5 is a Windows XP SP2 bootleg, which was created by Ahmed Elfannan (real name: Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Hadi). It was released on June 29, 2010, and was added to the archive on January 3, 2023.

Description

A bootleg based on Windows XP SP2 ISO. it is themed after various anime and cartoons, partially Naruto: Shippuden and Sonic.

Like its successor, it comes with 3 different configurations:

Fannan New SP2 v5: Stock windows XP with no changes other than big icons, without OEM branding
Newlook v5: Main configuration with a lot of customization utilities and themes
New lite v5: Lightweight configuration of Newlook, recommended for low end computers.

It has a special theme selector which is unique in bootlegs, where you can explore included themes while listening to some relaxing music. But that's not all, if you click on the question mark button, you will see some picture of the author among various individuals.

There is a folder on desktop named "Fannan" where you can see a PDF file which is an intorduction of the bootleg. On the same folder you can find the تعلیم (manga drawing tutorials + Fannan drawings), صور (two other folders are inside this folder: خلفیات [extra wallpapers], خلفیات للشاشات العریضة [wallpapers for computers with widescreen display]), فیدیو (two different outro clips from Naruto: Shippuden), and موسیقي (instrumental songs by Toshiki Masuda) folders.

You can use the driver pack installer in the autorun, which helps you to find and install needed drivers.

It is unattended and preactivated. It was made using nLite and Windows Unattended CD creator 0.9.8.

Notes

Bootleg quirks

Desktop icons will disappear if you change the display resolution.
The default username is "Fannan NewLook V5"
You can't install Ela-salaty using autorun because "it doesn't have a program associated with for performing the action". To fix this, you must copy the setup file from D:/Software/OtherProgs/Salaty.exe to desktop then install it.

CD contents and other info

There is a serial key on CD root.
The CD root has its own autorun.
The CD has a custom folder background, which is stored in the same place as "Covers + Serial".
The CD label is set to "الویندوز الجدید Fanan NewLook 5".
The CD label has its own icon (Sharingan).

WINNT.SIF metadata

The full name and organization is set to "Newlook" and "Fannan" respectively.
The computer name is set to "newlook_v5"
The workgroup name is FANNAN_GROUP
