Windows XP X-Team Fantasy Edition 2011-8 is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by X-Team Group. It released on August 23, 2011, and was added to the archive on August 13, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO. It comes with new programs, many themes, wallpapers, screensavers, and 21 DriverPacks. It's one of the largest Windows XP bootlegs in the archive.

It comes with it's own boot menu, through it, You can choose to make the bootleg installation semi-unattended or manually with either SATA or not. In addition, you can run Acronis Disk Director Advanced 11.0.12077, Acronis True Image Echo Server 9.7.8398, a modified copy of Hiren's Boot CD 14.0, the Windows XP Live CD, KolibriOS 0.7.5.0, Eurosoft PC-Check 6.0, Fix NTLDR is mising, HDD Regenerator 1.51, Victoria 3.51 or MemTest86 3.3.

On the first boot of the setup, an alternative WINNT.SIF creator will launch with its settings set by default, so you can change them if you want, then a driverpack selector will launch with their drivers selected.

On the first boot of the OS, the ResPatch Dark-Black Aero starts installing the skin to have new enhancements included, then it reboots.

It comes with its own autorun. Through it, you can install the bootleg, launch the Boa Software Installer (which comes with lots of more programs and tools), install drivers, which will launch another autorun that contains options for the drivers (one is for HWID, which will detect drivers, and one is for DriverPack Solution v10 and the other is for backing them up, which loaunched Drivers Backup Solution 1.11.12) or browse the disc.

It is unattended and preactivated. The boot menu was made using Bootable CD Wizard v2.0a1 and the autorun was made using Advanced CD Launcher 1.2.

Notes

Bootleg quirks

  • There are 6 more themes and 28 more wallpapers on the "Mega Love Face 2.5" pack, which are not extracted by default. Running the software again will extract them.
  • The Windows XP Live CD software and settings don't apply because of a broken AutoIt3 tool that runs on the first boot.
  • On VMWare, the sound drivers don't work. This is because the Sound DriverPack has overwritten the original sound drivers.
  • During the software installation on the "Boa Software Installer", the MPlayer for Windows cannot play the MP3 file that came with because it's broken.
  • Some addons that come with Firefox are disabled by default.
  • The "showdown Colors5" visual style is broken. It uses the Windows XP theme instead.
