Bob Pony OS Beta 1 is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition created by Bob Pony, which released on April 16th, 2016 and was added to the archive in December 2021. There were multiple betas of this bootleg released, the other being Bob Pony OS Beta 2 which is based on Windows 7.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO. It adds Bob Pony branding, as seen in the name. It adds a brand new shell (which is supposedly intended to make using the OS easier), and one theme. This bootleg is broken due to LogonUI being broken.

Changes from Windows XP SP3

  • The setup style is changed to the older Windows 2000 setup
  • Bob Pony branding has been added
  • A new shell written in VB.NET has been added, which replaces the default shell
  • A Zune theme is included, which will immediately fail upon attempting to copy
