Windows Aero Style is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by an unknown author. It released on April 10, 2010 and was added to the archive on January 26, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO. It is themed to look like Windows 7. It comes with a WPI, which is just a batch script to run all the installers silently.

It is partially unattended and also preactivated (although you have to do this manually). The bootleg was made using nLite 1.4.9.1 on Windows Vista SP2 and Windows Unattended CD Creator 0.9.8.

Changes from Windows XP SP3

Minor changes

  • The My Computer and My Documents icons now show up on the desktop.
  • Administrative Tools now shows up in My Computer.
  • System Properties and the About Windows dialog are now displayed in the "System" font. The System Properties dialog cuts off a lot of the right side because it has not been resized to account for the new Windows Vista look it has been given. Additionally, the About Windows dialog has been made a little bigger, and now has a slightly stretched Windows Vista Home Premium banner.

Changes in pre-desktop procedures

  • The setup now has a Windows Vista look.
  • The boot screen, pre-OOBE and login screen has been changed to look like Windows Vista Home Premium.

  • There are two software directories on the CD, and the one used is AeroSoftware. The other Software folder is empty.
