Windows 7 Android Rockz! (also known as ARockz!) is a lost Windows 7 SP1 bootleg, which was created by SRusM. It released on January 21, 2012.
Description
Unfortunately, not a lot of info remains about the Android Rockz! bootleg, but as the name suggests, it is themed after the Android operating system, and came with a variety of programs and registry tweaks. It came in 32-bit and 64-bit, and was not activated at least based on the description. Strangely, the OS appears on a few PC driver websites that list otherwise authentic Windows releases.
On the first bootup, a Windows 7 Toolkit appears, and the user can select which applications to install.
Known file names: Windows 7 Android Rockz!x86SP1Fu.ISO, Windows.7.Prof.AndroidRockz.SP1.x64.CyberKilleR.ISO
Changes from Windows 7 SP1
- The logon and OOBE screen backgrounds have been replaced with a background that says "7" following a humorous picture based on the March of Progress, with the last human replaced with the Android logo.
- The setup screen has been replaced with the same 7 seen in the logon background with three Android logos each spoofing the three wise monkeys.
- The "Welcome" text has been changed to "Welcome Android Rockz!"
- Icons have been added to the desktop, The "Computer", "Network", "Control Panel", "Start 8", and "Recycle Bin" icons have all been changed to appropriately themed Android counterparts.
- The cursor has been changed.
- The start button, Internet Explorer, File Explorer, and Media Player icons have all been replaced.
- The desktop wallpaper has been replaced with a graffiti art of the Android logo below text that says "Android Rockz!". The original background can be found here, albeit without the 7 or Windows 7 logo, as those elements were added in by the author.
