Windows 2002 is a bootleg of Windows XP RTM created by miyako and added to the archive on February 13th, 2022.

Description

Much like Windows 2007, it is designed as a visual mod to mimic Beta versions of XP. Most audio-visual aspects have been changed including replacing the themes and sound schemes.

Since this mod is based off of RTM, it has numerous security vulnerabilities and is ill-advised to connect to the internet.

Changes from Windows XP

  • Newly designed autorun
  • Pre-installation environment, winver, logon UI, etc. have been changed to reflect the new branding
  • OOBE has been updated
  • New default wallpaper
  • 2 new themes, Watercolor and Luna; both are from different stages of the XP Beta
  • New sound scheme, the producer is currently unknown.
  • Beta icons added (i.e. the Recycle Bin, which now has handles)

Notes

  • This ISO requires a Volume License product key which is not included in I386\UNATTEND.TXT, although any VOL key will work.
