Windows XP 10 Edition is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by Arman Ali and Talha Zameer of Computer Media Team Pakistan. It released on May 25, 2016, and was added to the archive on December 13, 2021.
Description
The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO, which adds a bunch of programs and not many games, and one theme. The OS supposedly gives the OS a Windows 10 look using a Windows 10 skin pack. Although this is kind of true, the title is rather misleading.
Despite the bootleg claiming to be Windows XP 10 Edition, it's actually styled after Windows 10 Technical Preview (which has many Windows 8 elements still in it, most particularly the title bar). The skin pack used to transform XP into Windows 10 and give it the Windows 10 theme this bootleg claims to have released a good 7 months before Windows 10 would release to manufacturing, and the bootleg released 1 year after that. By the time this bootleg had released, Windows 10 not only had already long since came out, but it would've looked completely different if you compared this bootleg to Windows 10. And to add further insult to injury, the sound schemes for this bootleg uses the (fake) Windows Vista ones! Only one sound in total is from Windows 8, and even then, the OS plays the Windows 7 startup sound on the first boot.
Like the vast majority of bootlegs, it has a WPI. It is unattended and preactivated.
The ISO was made using nLite 1.4.9.1.
Changes from Windows XP SP3
Minor changes
- The text-mode setup OS text has been changed to the respective OS name, along with some of the options
Changes in pre-desktop procedures
- New setup graphics. The setup background is changed, along with OS title. CMT branding is also added
- New boot screen. The boot screen has been changed to a Windows 10 style boot screen with CMT's branding. Because of the low color depth, the color is displayed in blue
- New pre-OOBE graphics. The pre-OOBE screen has been also given the Windows 10 look, this time in proper color
- New login graphics. The log in screen is styled after the Windows 8 log in screen with Windows 10 branding
Look and feel
- New default theme, and wallpaper
- One other theme included - "Energy Blue", or Royale.
- Most of the OS icons have been changed to their Windows 10 TP counterparts as a result of the skin pack applied
