Windows XP LSD 3.7 is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Team LSD. It released on August 7, 2007, and was added to the archive on August 14, 2022.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO, with RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack 1.1.1 (ELupdatePACK Fr edition). It comes with a new Windows Vista-style theme, new programs, wallpapers, drivers and registry tweaks.

During setup, a command prompt window will open which will provide you with choices to do many things, such as apply optimizations for the Pentium 4 HT processor, install a new font and wallpaper set and configure the user information.

The autorun has been replaced with a HTA file. The loader for the autorun is just MSHTA, but renamed.

It is unattended and preactivated. The bootleg was made using nLite.

Bootleg quirks

  • Due to the poorly done kernel modification to add the custom bootscreen, SP3 cannot be installed unless the original ntoskrnl file is restored.
  • You can access the WinLSD website through the WinLSD program group in All Programs. You can also disable select services through its own subfolder, if you wish.
  • The built-in games have been removed, including Solitaire. For shame!
  • The HOSTS file now uses a list generated by Spybot Search and Destroy.
  • The Command Prompt is colored yellow by default.

CD contents and other info

  • The CD label is set to "WinLSD 3.7".
  • The CD has its own custom icon.

WINNT.SIF metadata

  • The full name and organization is set to "LSD" and "Team LSD".
  • The computer name is set to "ORDINATEUR".
  • The workgroup name is set to "MSHOME".
