Black XP 7 Gold (called "Windows XP Black SP2 Version 7.0 Gold Edition" in the changelog) is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created as part of the Black XP series, by Kirk. It released on December 29, 2007, and was added to the archive on January 26, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO with DriverPacks, RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack 2.1.11 and OnePiece IE7 Update Pack 1.7.0 integrated. It comes with many programs, themes and walllpapres, and fonts included. It is themed after dark colors, and Windows Vista. It is unattended and preactivated.

It comes with 2 WPIs, with 11 pre-included themes. The first one is just niceties and other miscellaneous things, while the second is the actual pre-installed optional software, along with registry tweaks.

It also comes with its own autorun. Through it, you can launch WPI 2, install Nero 8.2.8 Full (really Nero 8.1.1.0 trial) and browse the DVD.

The bootleg was made using nLite 1.4 on Windows XP SP2 and Windows Unattended CD Creator 0.9.8, the autorun was made with AutoPlay Media Studio.

  • Control Panel, My Network Places, Taskbar and Start Menu and Administrative Tools are now included as links in the Other section of My Computer
  • RocketDock and Windows Sidebar now run on startup, as shortcuts in the Startup folder of All Users.
  • OEM branding is included, along with Support Information.

Bootleg quirks

  • The aforementioned visual styles don't show up in the visual style selector, you have to manually load them yourself from Windows\Resources\Themes.
  • You can find serial keys and keygens for all WPI software on the desktop.

  • The tweaks in the WPI are all from "gugutz Tweaks Collection 0.4".
  • The CD label is set to "Win XP Prof EN", hence the resulting ISO name.
  • The CD has its own custom icon.
