Gold Windows XP 2009 is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created as part of the Gold Windows XP series by Nasir Mehmood and Saleh Kakar of Computer Kings Corporation. It released on January 6, 2010, and was added to the archive on April 6, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO. It comes with many themes and wallpapers, and programs. It comes with registry tweaks.

It comes with its own autorun, and WPI. The WPI is ran on the first boot of the OS. Through the autorun, you can access the latter again afterwards.

It is unattended and preactivated. The bootleg was made using nLite 1.4.1 and the autorun was made with AutoPlay Menu Builder 5.2.0.388.

  • The OS selection screen's entries now say WELCOME GOLD XP WINDOWS QUETTA and SALEH KAKAR Mb # 0301-3773112. The first one is just boots normally from WINDOWS, while the last one boots straight from the C: drive.
  • The C: label is now "GOLD XP". The C: drive has also received a custom icon
  • My Computer is now "XP HOME", My Documents is "Documents", My Network Places is "Network", and lastly, Recycle Bin is now "KACHRA BIN".
  • The "Empty Recycle Bin" is now present in the context menus of basically all folders and shell objects in general.
  • New desktop context menu entries included, there's now a nonfunctional entry "GOLD XP 2009" at the top. Excluding the entries added by the SpiritPyres shell extensions, there's also "Back".
  • Extra context menu entries added to My Computer's menu, including shutdown options and links to system tools
  • Open With Notepad is now present in context menus of all unknown files.
  • Open In New Window is now present in folder context menus
  • OEM branding is included, along with Support Information
  • Run dialog has a new look and is much smaller. Title now says ":: run ::"
  • Winver branding is changed
