Windows 7 xDark Deluxe is a bootleg Windows 7 SP1 edition, which was created by Skat666 and n0ak95. It released in 2011, and was added to the archive on December 5, 2022.
Description
The OS is a modified copy of Windows 7 SP1 with modifications made to the setup, backgrounds and icons. Key takeaways include the setup window being more translucent and having a different background, as well as having multiple wallpapers along with a couple of themes added.
On the first boot of the OS, an installation script made exclusively for the bootleg itself, by n0ak95, installs ~20 programs, a process of which the script alleges can take 10 minutes. It replaces the default IE search engine with Google at the end.
Changes from Windows 7 SP1
- The setup background is changed to the Harmony wallpaper put through a film camera filter
- The setup window has been made more transparent
- New log in and default desktop background
- One unique style is added, a few themes are added, most of them changing the wallpaper
- All icons have been changed to dark versions of themselves
- Some of the system folder names have been changed
- 47 new gadgets included

Notes
- The post-install script will try to install its own version of VMware Tools, so if you're using a newer version of VMware than what the script installs, then delete the executable that it tries to install immediately so they will not conflict.
- ACiDview and CCleaner will always fail to install. Keep in mind that the latter already comes with the OS by default.
- The Explorer item check box feature is enabled.
- The console color scheme is set to blue on gray, like the post-install script.
