Windows 7 Performance Edition 2015 is a Windows 7 SP1 bootleg, which was created by BossKanae. The 64-bit version was released on March 15, 2015, while the 32-bit version released on May 16, 2016. They were both added to the archive on April 6, 2024.
The 32-bit version is slightly corrupted. The SetupComplete.cmd script is completely blank, therefore not installing the preloaded software. It is slightly different in software selection as well.
Description
The bootleg is a modified Windows 7 SP1 ISO. It comes with many themes and wallpapers, a new sound scheme and a boot screen which gets applied during the OOBE finalization section, and much more. It comes with registry tweaks.
It is not preactivated, but it comes with Windows Loader 2.2.2 which you can find on the desktop.
Changes from Windows 7 SP1
Minor changes
- The setup OS text is changed to 7 Performance Edition. The OS name in the OS selector is now "7 Performance Edition 2015".
- New desktop context menu items added
- The registered name is set to "Windows User".
- The OS logo in the System Properties is now the setup background.
Changes in pre-desktop procedures
- New setup graphics. The setup window is nearly transparent
- New boot graphics, which is applied during OOBE finalization
- New OOBE background
- New login graphics. The background is now pitch black, and the loading icon is now that of Windows 10's. The OS banner just says "7 Performance".
Look and feel
- New default wallpaper. All of the regional themes have been unlocked
- New Windows 10 beta icon set
- New default avatar
Software
- Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.305
- CCleaner 5.01.5075

- Microsoft Office 2003 Portable (cracked, organization <arabianhorse>)
- WinRAR 5.21 (cracked, registered to [ KaranPC ])
- Skype 7.2.59.103
- 7-Zip 9.38
- UltraISO 9.3.0.2600 (cracked)

Differences between the 32-bit and the 64-bit version
Major changes
- The size is dramatically smaller compared to the 64-bit one. This is because the 32-bit version is a lite edition contrary to the regular 64-bit version (the OS is referred to as "7 Performance Lite Edition"). Tangentially, the "Performance Edition" name makes a lot more sense.
- The custom software during the OOBE finalization segment is different. A new boot screen (with a Windows 10 logo flipped sideways on a spinning disc, do not mistake it as the Windows 11 logo), Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1, a skin pack and Windows Loader 2.2.2 would've been installed.
- The CD label is now "Windows 10 BossKanae Sys" and the CD icon is a Windows 10 box case. So yeah, they're trying to trick you into thinking you're installing Windows 10!
Minor changes
- The setup window background has been changed.
- The setup feels slightly more like the stock one as the autounattend file doesn't exist anymore.
- The OS names have been left stock in the Completing installation segment.
- The OOBE background is now the default one.
- The login background is now stock. This reveals the banner's text has a thick drop shadow.
- The default wallpaper has been changed to a generic "Windows 7" wallpaper.
- There is now a different default avatar. A good chunk of the stock avatars are gone.
- All themes but the Windows Aero, Windows Basic and Windows Classic themes have been removed.
- The stock sound scheme returns.
Notes
Bootleg quirks
- On the "Setup will continue after restarting your computer" screen, there is a typo in the modified version: "7 Performancel continue after restarting your computer".
CD contents and other info
- The CD label is set to "PERFORMANCE EDITION 2015".
