Windows 98 Anime Edition is a bootleg Windows 98 SE edition, which was created by A-ManWare. It released in April 2020, and was added to the archive on February 13, 2023.
Description
The bootleg is a modified Windows 98 SE distribution which is packaged in the Norton Ghost image format, which has to be restored in the Norton Ghost 2003 utility which is on the CD itself. It comes packed with many programs, mostly 90's to 2000's era programs that would usually come preloaded on OEM installations, along with some games (mostly published by Microsoft including the original Age of Empires), some updates such as Microsoft Plus! 98 and over 400+ anime wallpapers taken from various websites on the internet to suit the theme of this OS (which is, well, anime). As of June 2020, no further versions of this bootleg have been released.
This bootleg is best suited for VMWare, particularly 7.0, which is why there is VMWare Tools 7.0 preinstalled on this OS.

Notes
- The OS now starts in 1600x900 resolution by default, because the original creator used that screen resolution on their old PC.
- The entirety of the Windows 98 installer files are present on the root of the C: drive, to make installing drivers easier.
- You will need to provide a product key in order to use this bootleg.
