Windows Spiderman Vista V3 is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Maher Mostafa (also known as Mooma Max and Mr Format 80) and Mohamed Mostafa of Spiderman Net (which is headed by Manshyet Elgabal Elasafar). It released on October 6, 2007, and was added to the archive on August 9, 2022.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO which is themed after Spiderman, and also styles the OS with a Windows Vista theme (obviously). It has a few programs and has a new autorun with additional software, not much else other than that. It is unattended and preactivated.

The ISO was made using nLite and the autorun was made with AutoPlay Media Studio 6.0. The OOBE video was encoded on May 15, 2007 @ 07:54:51 UTC by Server_Spiderman. It is copyrighted March 13, 2007.

Changes from Windows XP SP2

Minor changes

  • The text-mode setup OS text is changed to "Spiderman Vista V.3 Installation" and centered. All mentions of the OS have been changed to "Spiderman Vista V.3".
  • The text-mode setup's "Please wait" text in the copying portion has been removed.
  • The Start button text is now "V.3".
  • The System Properties has been customized with new graphics and a new Windows Vista-looking arrangement. The entirety of the General page is in the System font.
  • The Run dialog now has a banner, the name of the bootleg, the author's 2 email addresses and a calendar dropdown. The title is also updated to "Spiderman Vista™ V.3 Run".
  • The Winver dialog has a new banner and bar.

Notes

Bootleg quirks

  • The regional language is set to Arabic and the Arabic keyboard layout is present.
  • There is one theme, but it's unused due to its supposed theme file not even using the msstyles, probably because of WindowBlinds.
  • The taskbar is unlocked.
