Windows Ubuntu Xp (also known as Windows Ubuntu XP) is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by WarezBos. It released on November 30, 2007, and was added to the archive on December 9, 2021.

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO. As the title would suggest, the OS has been given an Ubuntu theme, particularly the Human theme of old Ubuntu, which was current at the time of this bootleg's release. Many new programs and wallpapers are included. Super Turbo Tango Patcher 7.08 has also been applied to the OS. It comes with a bunch of updates integrated.

On the first boot of the OS, first a command prompt window will open and will automatically install all of the software which got extracted before during the Setup, and then a UPX-compressed AutoHotkey 1.0 macro script will run that automatically moves the taskbar to the top and applies several DLL patches.

It comes with a custom autorun written in Delphi, which simply opens a HTML page.

It is preactivated. The ISO was made using nLite 1.4.

Bootleg quirks

  • Despite the startup and shutdown sounds being changed, the login and logoff sounds remain stock.
  • On the desktop, you can find a folder named "Medicina" which got extracted there, which you may have saw during the first boot, and also a README.txt file, but we'll get to that in a bit. Anyways, you will find 3 items in the "Medicina" folder. They are the following:
  • The first item is a keygen for an included program, O&O Defrag Professional, by the scene group ZWT, and the latter two items are Firefox extensions, concerning giving Firefox the Ubuntu look and feel. One is a Ubuntu "Human" theme, the other makes the Firefox tabs look more consistent with Human's look.
  • Fun fact: During O&O Defrag Professional's installation in the first boot, you are instructed how to use the keygen: you are told to kindly put in the author's name and company.
  • As for README.txt, it tells you how to get to the "preinstall" folder which shows you the leftover software that lies in that folder, and it also explains the "Medicina" folder and its contents (entirely in Czech), like you're seeing in this Notes section right now.
  • Mozilla Firefox comes with one bookmark, which goes to "".
  • TuneUp Utilities 2007's crack doesn't work properly, as launching TuneUp Utilities shows a "This is not a genuine version" message.
