Windows XP Extended Edition (codename ReBorn) is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created as part of the Extended Edition series by Joco1114. It released on March 7, 2007, and was added to the archive on August 12, 2023.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO, with a boot selector integrated. Through it, you can access ERD Commander 2005, Windows XP PE 54.5.0, Partition Magic 8.05, Norton Ghost 8.2, Sysinternals NTFS for DOS, MemTest+ 1.65 and Hiren's Boot CD 8.3.

It comes with many themes and wallpapers. it comes with its own WPI, with many programs. It comes with many updates, and registry tweaks. It is unattended, and preactivated.

The ISO was made using nLite, the boot selector used was EasyBoot 5.0.

The setup now uses the Windows 2000 style. The setup background is changed

Notes

Bootleg quirks

The C: drive label now gets set to "WXPEE_SYS" by default.
Code to install VMware Tools (and detect if it's on VMware or not) exists in its program installer script, but it is commented out. The files for it still exist, though.

WPI

AnyDVD will not install because it expects a different filename from the actual one.

CD contents and other info

WINNTBBU.dll is missing from the CD, which will produce a copy error.
The autorun has been removed.
There is a NFO file called "xpsp2ee.nfo".

WINNT.SIF metadata

The full name and organization is set to "MS-USER" and "Microsoft Corporation" respectively.
The computer name is set to "MS-Computer".
The workgroup name is set to "MSHOME".
