Windows XP Extended Edition (codename Simplicity) is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created as part of the Extended Edition series by Joco1114. It released on November 14, 2006, and was added to the archive on November 15, 2023.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO, which comes with a boot selector integrated. Through it, you can access ERD Commander 2005, Windows XP PE 5.0, Partition Magic 8.05, Norton Ghost 8.2, Paragon NTFS for DOS, Memtest 1.65 and Hiren's Boot CD 8.3. It comes with system registry tweaks, and program registry configurations.

It comes with 2 themes, 105 wallpapers, a cursor and icon set, along with 61 fonts. It comes with its own WPI, with many programs bundled on it. It is unattended and preactivated.

During setup, additional drivers will get installed.

The ISO was made using nLite, and the boot selector used was EasyBoot 5.0.

Bootleg quirks

There are several programs listed in the NFO that is included in the WPI's programs, but not available in the WPI listing.
When you try to run the WPI from the Start menu programs, it will report that

CD contents and other info

Since the CD's bootstrapper does not use EasyBoot's one, all of the bootable utilities on the CD are completely inaccessible, unless you edit the ISO to have it.
There is an unused boot image for CHNTPW 0.99.3 (named "nthack.ima") in the cdboot directory, where the EasyBoot data is stored.
There is a NFO file on the CD root named "xpsp2ee.nfo", which documents everything bundled with the bootleg, which is a common feature in Joco1114's Extended Edition releases.
The CD label is set to "WXPEE_HU".
