Windows XP Extreme 2008 is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Amit Bhardwaj. It released on June 5, 2007, and was added to the archive on April 6, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO, with RyanVM Update Pack 2.1.10 integrated. It comes with many programs and one theme and two wallpapers. It is preactivated.

The bootleg was made using nLite 1.3.5 on Windows XP SP2.

RyanVM Update Pack 2.1.10 and Windows Media Player 11 have now been integrated as hotfixes. They are on two different drive letters, D and E.

A lot more has been done to the ISO, such as removing components and adding in tweaks.
1 new theme included, VistaCG version 1.27. It's been integrated as an addon. It is the default theme now
Setup is now unattended. It will now start in 1440x900 resolution at 75 Hertz in True Color. It's different from final (1280x1024). The OS will now auto-logon to the "Honey" user
4 new program addons integrated
Minimum system/memory requirements have been completely disabled, so go ahead and run this on a Pentium 2 if you want lol
TCP/IP/USB polling patches applied. UXTheme and SFC patches applied as well.
"Command Prompt Here" is now present in all folder context menus
Last session user file now leaks the author's personal information, revealing their real name and timezone. CD key is now present for the first time. There is also a "Honey" user now, which will get logged onto automatically as mentioned earlier.

Bootleg quirks

  • K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 2.1.0 was originally mislabeled as "K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.71 ".
  • The watermark is now visible across all of the OS.
  • When the RunOnce segment first starts, it will attempt to look for the Norton 2007 executable. But the thing is that it has to be extracted first. It is never actually done, so the EXE never appears and it will show an error.
  • A bunch of files get dropped to the root of the C: drive.
