Windows XP MoonLight V1 2012 is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by Abdo Ahmed (real name: عبدالرحمن أحمد عبدالصادق). It released on August 6, 2012, and was added to the archive on April 6, 2024.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO. It comes with many themes and wallpapers, and some programs.

It comes with its own autorun. Through it, you can access EasyDrv (DriverPacks version 901r3), a page about the author (which you can also access through a menu entry in the desktop context menu, which is in a completely seperate executable) and "Tools" which will apply the same extras that this bootleg comes with which is handy if you want this bootleg's modifications elsewhere for whatever reason.

The drive label gets set to "MoonLight XP" during setup.

It is unattended and preactivated. The bootleg was made using nLite 1.4.9.1 and Windows Unattended CD Creator, and the autorun was made with AutoPlay Media Studio 7.0.

Changes from Windows XP SP3

Minor changes

The text-mode setup OS text is changed to "Moon Light XP", then "MoonLight XP Setup". The bar below it is gone, but it returns afterward. A lot of the text-mode setup strings have been messed up, like for example it will show blank for a few seconds, and the last string it'll show is now "estart your computer".
OEM branding is included, along with Support Information.
The Run dialog is changed. It's now blank
Winver banner and bar is changed.
Shutdown dialog is changed.

Changes in pre-desktop procedures

New setup graphics. The setup is now Windows 7 styled
New boot graphics
New login graphics, using a modified LogonUI to emulate Windows 7. There is a fake language button in the background

After the boot screen fades out, it does not fade out to black but to a different color, which is a shade of gray. It is shown as the last item in the gallery.
