Windows XP Point V9 is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by AmSavS. It released on June 16, 2008, and was added to the archive on August 3, 2022.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO. It adds many new programs, and some themes. It installs a transformation pack (FlyakiteOSX 3.0) on top of the OS.

It is unattended and preactivated. The ISO was made using nLite, and the WPI used was Boa Software Post Installer.

Minor changes

Notes

Bootleg quirks

  • There are 2 programs that are meant to be part of "Visual", but do not quite install right. QTAddressBar (mislabeled as QTabBar (sic)) will not install due to it being in the wrong place. It's supposed to be in the soft/xp folder with the rest of the EXEs but it's in the CD root instead. RocketDock will not install due to it not existing at all. This is also true for eMule, which isn't part of Visual.
  • The default sound scheme has links to missing Windows Vista sounds.

CD contents and other info

  • The CD label is set to "Xp_PoInT_v9".
  • The CD has a new icon.
  • The I386 and prog folders in the CD are hidden.

WINNT.SIF metadata

  • The full name and organization are "AmSavS" and "AmSavS Creation´s 2008".
  • The computer name is set to "AMSAVS".
  • The workgroup name is set to "red".
  • The IE homepage and help page are both set to "http://sirkoft.com".
  • The IE search page is set to "http://google.com.co".
  • There are 3 GuiRunOnce entries, all in system32: ini.cmd (just runs the WPI, this will stop recognizing CD drive letters properly after Q:), cleanup.cmd (hides self with cmdow but with invalid "/hd" argument, deletes aspnet user and deletes RK Launcher folder in Program Files) and reg.cmd (hides self with cmdow but this time with proper argument and applies menudelay.reg which is detailed down below).

It sets the menu show delay to 20, but it also has many other changes. (not all of them listed here)

  • New default wallpaper. ConvertedWallpaper is set to N17.jpg in system32, and both Wallpaper and OriginalWallpaper are set to this same wallpaper but it's named Wallpaper1.bmp and in Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft.
  • The default screensaver is changed to Euphoria.
  • The IE title is changed to "Xp PoInT V9 AmSavS".
  • The window metrics have been modified slightly.
  • Startup entries UnlockerAssistant, NeroFilterCheck, RemoteControl, SunJavaUpdateSched and MsnMsgr have been removed.
