Windows XP Punjabi is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by Tiwana. It released on June 23, 2009, and was added to the archive on December 31, 2023.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO. It comes with some programs. It comes with an automatic program installer (with many programs in it). It has some wallpapers in it. It is unattended and preactivated.

The ISO was made using nLite 1.4.8.

Changes from Windows XP SP3

  • New setup graphics. The setup billboard is now entirely in Hindi. The rest of the OS is English though
  • New default wallpaper

  • There is now a "Genuine Windows" logo in the desktop context menu

Notes

  • The RunOnceEx procedure now uses First.cmd, which is a batch script that calls other batch scripts in a series, to configure the system.
The first script to be loaded, keydoard.cmd, sets the default keyboard layout to be Hindi.
The second script, mouse.cmd, sets up the mouse settings.
The third script, imgsis.cmd, registers "Image.dll", which is the Byblos Shell Extension.
The fourth script, quick.cmd, copies all of the preloaded Quick Launch entries from the WINDOWS\QUICK folder to the default Quick Launch folder.
The fifth script, desktopx.cmd, copies all of the link files from "WINDOWS\desktopx" to the Desktop directory.
The sixth script, volume.cmd, runs 2 programs, Vista Drive Icon and Wheels of Volume.
The seventh script, multiset.cmd, sets a RunOnce key to run Almeza MultiSet 6.0, which is an automatic program installer, which will install all of the bundled programs.
And the seventh and final script, Restart.cmd, simply restarts the machine.
  • The Start menu is set to the classic style by default.
  • The Internet Explorer title is set to "Tiwana's Net Explorer".
  • The full name is set to "Tiwana".
  • The computer name is set to "Tiwana".
