Windows XP Zver CD (November 2013) is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by the ZverDVD team. It released on August 12, 2013, and was added to the archive on January 3, 2023.

Description

Windows XP Zver CD was a popular custom build of Windows XP SP3 that was usually installed by Russian users. The word "zver" ("зверь") is a Russian word which translates to "beast".

It comes with a boot selector featuring various utilities such as Acronis DD and other recovery tools, auto-installation and an option to boot directly to the hard disk.

Changes from Windows XP SP3

Minor changes

  • The winver banner has been redesigned to look more like the Windows Vista counterpart.
  • Various Windows XP updates are automatically installed.
  • Launching Notepad will open AkelPad instead.
  • An icon named "Лучшие Игры 2013!" ("Best Games 2013!") has been added to the desktop which opens minizina.ru in the user's default browser.

Changes in pre-desktop procedures

  • New setup graphics
  • New OOBE video

Look and feel

  • Several new themes have been added.
  • Icons were replaced with Vista counterparts.
  • Several new cursor themes have been added.
  • The default sound scheme has been replaced with the Windows XP Samsung theme sound scheme.
