Windows XP Sun Rise is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Hossam Hassan and Abou Bondok. It released on December 30, 2007, and was added to the archive on February 5, 2023.
Description
The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO which styles the OS with a Windows Vista theme based on WindowBlinds. It comes with many programs and themes, but other than that, there isn't much. It comes with its own autorun, and a WPI. It is unattended and preactivated.
The bootleg was made using nLite 1.0 beta 5 and Windows Unattended CD Creator 0.9.5, and the autorun was made with AutoPlay Media Studio 6.0. The finishing touches to the ISO were made with UltraISO 8.5.1.1860.
Changes from Windows XP SP2
Minor changes
- The text-mode setup OS text has its name changed to "hossam windows XP"
- A bunch of menu entries are introduced into My Computer's context menu
- OEM branding is included
- System Properties and Run both have animating graphics.
Changes in pre-desktop procedures
- New setup graphics. The setup billboards are blanked out.
- New boot graphics
- New login graphics
Look and feel
- New default theme (and WindowBlinds skin), and wallpaper
- 5 new themes included
- 35 new wallpapers included. All of the default wallpapers have been replaced (except the .BMP files in the Windows folder)
- New icon set. Some icons are replaced
- New sound scheme. The startup and shutdown sounds are just water sounds, not joking.

Bootleg quirks
- The regional language is set to Arabic and the Arabic keyboard layout is installed (Language bar is hidden by default).
- The WPI will try to start up on each restart, simply delete the file "Shortcut to WPI.hta" in the Startup folder.
- The OOBE is skipped, but will say "Please wait..."
- The taskbar is unlocked.
- There are 3 Favorites links integrated. The first one is "stardvb" with the URL "http://www.stardvb.com", the second is "DamasGate" with the URL "http://www.damasgate.com/vb/?", and the last one is "elsayra" with the URL "http://www.alsayra.com/vb/index.php".
- The Internet Explorer title is set to " -;{ HOSSAM WINDOWS XP };- ".
