'''Windows 8 xTreme''' (also called: Windows 8 Pre Xtreme Edition, Windows 8 Ultimate Xtreme Edition) is a bootleg [[:Category:Bootlegs based on Windows 7|Windows 7 RTM]] edition, which was created by [[:Category:Bootlegs created by Skat666|Skat666]]. It released on August 28, 2009. It was once considered lost, but on December 3, 2022, it was discovered in parts on [[CrustyWin Wiki:File hosts#Chomikuj|Chomikuj.pl]] by mv, and was added to the archive on the same day. Despite its name, this OS actually came out before Windows 8 was announced.
