Windows 2000 Personal is a bootleg of Windows 2000 SP4, which was created by miyako. It released on February 2, 2020, and was added to the archive in December 2022.

Description

Windows 2000 Personal is another mockup proposed as a home user edition similar to Windows ME, including most of its software bar system utilities like System Restore.

An update was planned that would add Plus! 95/98 themes among other things, which was canned and miyako went inactive shortly after.

Changes from Windows 2000 SP4

  • Pre-installation environment, winver, logon UI, etc. have been changed to reflect the new branding
  • New default wallpaper
  • Startup and shutdown sounds have been replaced with versions from build 1983 of Windows 2000
  • Explorer graphics have been replaced with those from Windows ME

  • Windows Movie Maker 1.0
  • Internet Explorer and Outlook Express 6.0 SP1
  • All updates up to 2010, including a 48-bit LBA patch
