Windows 2000 Personal is a bootleg of Windows 2000 SP4 created by miyako.

Description

Windows 2000 Personal is another mockup proposed as a home user edition similar to Windows ME, including most of it's software bar system utilities like System Restore.

An update was planned that would add Plus! 95/98 themes among other things, which was canned and miyako went inactive shortly after.

Changes from Windows 2000

  • Pre-installation environment, winver, logon UI, etc. have been changed to reflect the new branding
  • New default wallpaper
  • Startup and shutdown sounds have been replaced with versions from build 1983 of Windows 2000
  • Explorer graphics have been replaced with those from Windows ME

Software

  • Windows Media Player 7.0
  • Windows Movie Maker 1.0
  • Internet Explorer and Outlook Express 6.0 SP1
  • All updates up to 2010, including a 48-bit LBA patch
