Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows 98 FE distribution themed around Serena from the Pokémon XY series. It is packaged in the Ghost image format, which has to be restored in the Symantec Ghost 11.5 utility which is on the CD itself. Unlike Windows 98 Anime Edition, this one does not have nearly as many programs. Due to this bootleg getting bad reviews, there have been no further versions made.

Notes

Original reviews

Yes, since this bootleg created by the author is terrible. (All the reviews came from the original archive.org post)

  • "I know I'm the creator of this, but I tried this myself, and it kept on crashing (Norton Ghost wouldn't even work in Parallels Desktop) and it had no sound driver whatsoever. I will be talking this down on Archive.org and there will be no more backup images of this post anymore." - A-ManWare himself
  • "Why does this exist is beyond me, but this OS mod is really unstable, you should have tried harder if you were gonna make an OS mod like this." - ShermanHerron15 (now goes by shermanzuki)
  • "Yes, [name redacted]. It is absolutely unstable. First, the Norton Ghost thing is stable. Second, the initial setup process has errors all over. Third, the pre-loaded programs don't work. Fourth, VMware Tools was also broken and there was no sound driver. Fifth, the wallpaper is faint. You can see it faintly. To recap, this thing is absolutely unstable! PLEASE FIX THIS THING!" - NoahNollenberg107
  • "I agree with '[name redacted]', this OS is an absolute broken mess as well as the cringe that applies to it. Downloaders beware!"
  • "first of all, I'm just guy who found this out by the guy below my review. Anyways, when I was trying to install using the ghost thing I hate, it would not let me select the hard drive. I tried again with a 16 GB hard drive. Still won't let me. So this proves that you should NOT install this piece of crap." - dudewiththe101
  • "On the first VM I tried this on, the installer would error out, so I had to use another source with Symantec Ghost to load the image to the hard drive. The second VM was able to load the image onto the hard drive, however, the install was extremely broken. I got errors everywhere, including six or so on when booting up. A bunch of the pre-loaded programs don't work, which defeats the purpose of having them installed. This includes being able to change the wallpaper. VMware Tools was also broken (unable to move cursor out of the VM freely) and there was no sound driver. The wallpaper is also stolen fanart, which goes against asking a person permission to use their art in your own project. Overall, being a broken mess that doesn't even work, I don't think even the biggest of pokemon fan kids out there would like this."
