Windows 7 Genome Edition 2014 is a bootleg Windows 7 SP1 edition, which was created for TeamOS by The Rain. It was released on November 29, 2014, and was added to the archive on April 6, 2024.

This bootleg's base would later be reused by the original author for Windows 7 Christmas Edition 2015.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows 7 SP1 ISO. It is themed after GNOME with the Gnome Skin Pack, although the name is spelled as "Genome". It comes with a theme, and some wallpapers, and many programs.

Changes from Windows 7 SP1

Minor changes

The setup OS text is changed to "Genome" (a misspelling of GNOME). This affects the pre-OOBE as well.
The Command Prompt copyright text is now "Copyright (c) 2014 TEAM OS {teamos-hkrg.com} Corporation. All rights reserved.".

Changes in pre-desktop procedures

New setup graphics. The setup window background is now gray. The Back button is now a white Windows 8-style icon.
- This also affects the pre-OOBE setup screen.
New OOBE graphics. The Windows banner is now the GNOME logo.
New login graphics

Look and feel

New default theme and wallpaper.
1 other theme included, "Gnome Basic" (which is an Aero theme despite the name. The opposite is true in the Aero Themes section, where the default Windows 7 theme is now "Gnome", and that is a Basic theme)
3 new wallpapers included. The "Windows" section of the default wallpapers has had all of its wallpapers replaced.

Notes

Bootleg quirks

Firefox is set to the beta update channel.
If you try to run Internet Explorer, this error (pictured in the Gallery) will pop up.
Adobe Reader's menus will appear invisible due to Y'z Shadow.
Ie4uinit will crash on the first boot.
All of the libraries are broken in this bootleg.
