Windows The Avengers is a bootleg Windows XP edition, released sometime in 2014. It is known for having a comically bad installer and theme, and for possibly birthing various bootleg offsprings.

Description

The OS is a version of Windows XP with various elements changed. It is themed to look like Windows 7 Aero.

Changes from Windows XP

• The Windows XP installer has been heavily modified if not entirely replaced.
• The default theme is similar of that to the Windows 7 Aero theme.
• The background has been replaced with a promotional image for the Marvel movie The Avengers from 2012.
• The "logging on" screen has been replaced with Marvel characters.
• The "Computer", "Network", "Recycle Bin", "Control Panel", and user folder icons have all been changed.
• Various system elements have been altered to be larger and changed to have Marvel characters.

• There are a few known bootlegs that are forked from this one.
• Installation can take quite a bit of time.
