Windows Dog XP 3.0.1 Reloaded Edition is a modified Windows XP SP3 edition and a fork of Windows Ice XP 3.0.1 Reloaded Edition (the English version, which is as you know lost), which was created by either afnan_sj or Kralcaglar. It released to ddlbits.com on December 18, 2008, and was added to the archive on February 5, 2023.
Description
The bootleg is a modified version of Windows Ice XP 3.0.1 Reloaded Edition, as mentioned earlier. The only changes that can be seen is the setup background, modified OEM branding with the name changed to "Windows Dog XP", the original OEM logo modified to have the original author's name removed and the forum from which this bootleg came in its place instead, and the autorun also having name changes. Other than that, it's the stock bootleg without anything else changed.
Other than that, the bootleg has also been horrifically broken - you will receive SEVERAL file copy errors during the text-mode setup, and if you think that's not a deal breaker - you can say that again!! Cue the login screen, which you simply cannot get past because activation in this bootleg has been completely broken!!! There is a way to fix it however, either boot into safe mode and run AntiWPA from there or see the Bootleg quirks section in Notes, and it will work. There are a bunch of other miscellaneous problems - one being broken mouse drivers which can simply be fixed by installing Guest Additions.
The bootleg was finished on December 18, 2008 @ 23:00:30.
Changes from Windows Ice XP 3.0.1 Reloaded Edition
Minor changes
- OEM branding has been modified, along with the Support Information
Changes in pre-desktop procedures
- New setup background
Notes
Remarks
- The "dog" on the setup screen is actually a white lion, which is a type of cat.
Bootleg quirks
- The reason why activation is broken is because the product key in the unattend script does not match the edition of this bootleg, which was discovered by re9177 during a private Crusttest session. You will have to edit the ISO to fix it and allow it to proceed normally.
CD contents and other info
- The CD label is set to "DogXP-SP".
