Windows XP Codename Vienna 2008 Russian is a bootleg Windows XP SP2 edition, which was created by Sanja Alone/putnik521. It released on December 24, 2007, and was added to the archive on August 6, 2022.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP2 ISO, which comes with Mega Love Face integrated. Like that Vietnamese mod with a similar name, it is themed after the then-in-development version of Windows that would become Windows 7 (Windows Vienna). It comes with many themes, wallpapers and programs.

On the first boot, Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 will be installed (or so it tries to, it doesn't work).

It is unattended and preactivated. The ISO was made using nLite 1.4 and Windows Unattended CD Creator 0.9.8 on Windows XP SP2. Despite the actual autorun executable being nonexistent, there is configuration for a Boa CD Installer 2007/Advanced CD Launcher autorun program, which was provided by a nLite addon.

Notes

Bootleg quirks

7-Zip Tools doesn't work. As a matter of fact, most of the software the bootleg tries to install won't work.
You seemingly have to install the customization programs yourself. You are not told where they are, but after some digging it is revealed that it is D:\VIENNA. There are forums about this bootleg depicting it with WindowBlinds with the Vienna2 skin and the corresponding JPG wallpaper, which can be found in the aforementioned directory. This is likely the intended configuration for this mod.
The portable TuneUp Utilities 2007 does not have a program group and is kinda hard to get to. It's in the root of the C drive, C:\PortableSoft\PortableTuneUpUtilities-2007RUS.
The address bar is hidden by default. Presumably QTAddressBar is supposed to replace it, but it doesn't work.

There is a Windows Unattended CD Creator shortcut in the I386 directory.
The default autorun has been removed.
The CD label is set to "WinXP_SP2_RU".
