Windows Sniper XP 1.0 is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by Gaber Samir. It released on September 8, 2015, and was added to the archive in late 2022.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO, with DriverPacks BASE 8.12.5, OnePiece Update Pack 4.2.0 and Windows XP Post-SP3 Update Pack (QFE) version 20130312 integrated. It comes with a boot selector integrated. Through it, you can access "Hiren's Boot CD" (really a foreign "Multi Boot Cd"). It is unattended and preactivated.

It comes with many programs and wallpapers, and themes. It comes with registry tweaks.

On the first boot of the OS, it will initially show up in the Classic theme. "Sniper Files" will show up 1–2 minutes after the initial startup - it will install all of the included software (not the one from Sniper Xp Programs), themes and wallpapers, icons, et cetera. Then, the system will reboot afterward and at that point the OS is ready to use.

It comes with its own autorun. It also comes with "Sniper Control Panel" and "Sniper Xp Programs". The former allows you to access a variety of programs, and access another means of setting the wallpapers and themes. The latter lets you install extra programs. There is another program, solely dedicated to the author's social media links, which is easily accessible as an executable file on the desktop.

It is unattended, and preactivated.

The ISO was made using nLite and Windows Unattended CD Creator, the autorun was made with AutoPlay Media Studio 8.0.7.0, and the boot selector used was EasyBoot 5.1.

Changes from Windows XP SP3

Minor changes

You can now toggle the file extensions and hidden files in the Desktop context menu. A "::: *(SNIPER XP 1.0)* :::" menu item can be seen at the top, where you can, like in many other ways, see the author's social media links.
Various applets all around the OS has had custom graphics added to them.
LClock, Drive Space Indicator, Rainmeter, TrueTransparency, TransBar, Styler and UberIcon all now run at startup.
OEM branding is included, along with Support Information. It is only accessible through a stock sysdm.cpl.

Changes in pre-desktop procedures

The text-mode setup OS text is changed. At first it is "SNIPER XP 1.0", then it becomes "Sniper xp 1.0 Setup By:Gaber Samir". The copying text is affected as well.

Bootleg quirks

This bootleg has files dating back to March 25, 2015. This bootleg was touched again on May 22, 2017.
The Volume Control applet has been replaced with fediaFedia's Windows 7 modification.

Both the root of the C: drive and CD have a custom background. The latter has all files hidden except the Software folder and Start.exe (the autorun).
The title of the autorun is "SUTEP (sic) SNIPER".
